6 months - still kinda new
This month has brought many new things/changes from sleep to food to sickness to nicknames to milestones. Madelyn is getting so big!
She is in love...down right smitten with her brother and sister. They can bring a smile to her face in a instant as well as precious giggles! She is perfectly content cuddling up with Katelyn and hanging out.
Well, until she discovers that she can pull at her face and play with her hair, nose, and anything else she can reach.
Katelyn calls her "Maddy" pretty much all the time now. Daddy often refers to her as "sweet tart" and mommy calls her "sweet pea" a lot. Zachary usually calls her "sissy" the most. But no matter what she is called she always looks at us with a giant smile and knows that she is the center of attention. Her favorite Christmas present was her baby from brother and sister. She loves to kiss it, stare at her face, talk to her, and squeeze her to death.
Madelyn is getting close to sitting up on her own without any support. Right now she sits somewhat hunched over and tends to lean a little but she is so close!
She loves being able to sit and play so I have a feeling once she is able to sit fully on her own she will love it!

She likes to eat solid foods (small pieces of whatever we are eating) more so than baby food. Her favorite baby food is bananas. Pears are mommy and daddy's least favorite (although she loves them) due to diaper explosions. And peas would probably be her favorite veggie so far. She still nurses every 3 hours even if she has had food to eat though. She is a scheduled girl!
She has improved in her sleep habits this month. Again...all about the schedule. She falls asleep on her own 100% of the time. Never any rocking, nursing, or bouncing needed to get her to fall asleep. She has a favorite blankie (ALREADY!) and as long as you lay that next to her with her paci she falls right to sleep. She goes down for the night between 7-7:30 and sleeps till 3 a.m. to 5 a.m. She nurses and then goes back down till 7:30 a.m. She is up for the day at 7:30, nurses and then eats breakfast between 8:00-9:00. After breakfast goes back down for morning nap. Naps usually last a minimum of about an hour now. Sometimes she will sleep for 2 1/2 hours though. She takes 3 naps a day (9 a.m./ 12:30 p.m./ 4:00 p.m.).
She hasn't said any definitive sounds yet. I have a feeling "dada" will be coming first this time("Mama" was the first for the other two) because she babbles and it sounds pretty close to coming out.
Her tongue is a favorite this month! She loves to chew on it, blow raspberries, and babble with it.
She just got over ear infection #2...hoping we aren't going down this path again but it is definitely a "mommy gene" so time will tell.

I love her sweater. :)
What a fun update about sweet Madelyn! Love her and the baby doll shots!
She is beautiful! Emersyn got a doll as well. It's so cute to watch them figure it all out.
