Spotlight on Katelyn

Our toothless girl is getting so big! She has now lost three teeth and is about to have a toothless smile on top as her other front tooth is getting wiggly. Her smile is changing and although it is so sweet it makes me a tad bit sad to see her getting so big!

Katelyn is officially half way through her first grade year. She enjoys school and especially loves her teacher again this year. We have truly been blessed by wonderful teachers and a great school for her. She is reading well and continues to love math.

She is a great student and is recognized by her teachers for her behavior. She was chosen by her teacher to receive the "Character Achievement Award" for caring this past track. Her teacher wrote "Katelyn is a student who is always looking out for others. Whether we are in the classroom or outside on the playground, Katelyn will make sure that other's needs are met before her own. With her sweet smile and caring heart, Katelyn makes a great friend." We couldn't be more proud of our sweet girl!

She has become quite the artist/journalist lately. She is always writing or drawing. She also loves to "teach" her brother or have a pretend classroom in her bedroom.

She started taking Gymnastics 2 months ago at a local gym (Young's Gym). She LOVES it! It is one of the highlights to her week. She is in a "Super Tots" class which consists of 5 and 6 year old girls. I am so proud at how hard she concentrates and what a great job she is doing in class. This week was parent observation and we went in and were able to watch all she has learned in her short 2 month timeframe. SO PROUD OF HER!

Here is a spotlight on her gymnastics skills that she has learned so far:

We couldn't be any more in love and proud of our biggest girl! She is a sweet girl who loves others deeply. We are so proud of her achievements but more than that we are so proud of who she is. She is becoming more inquistive about all God has for her and how much He loves her. Her heart is becoming soft to His ways and we see that she is desiring to want to follow and obey Him. We continue to pray that she will become a godly woman who fears the Lord greatly.
